Oil Storage Facilities

Griffith Energy Services, multiple sites in Connecticut

Project Type: Oil Storage Facilities, SPCC plan preparation and civil improvements

Project Status: Completed.

Investigated and prepared Spill Prevention, Containment and Control plans for four oil storage facilities in the western portion of Connecticut. Made recommendations and prepared budgets for site improvements to meet upcoming EPA requirements. Designed civil engineering improvement plans, managed bidding and construction for project owner.

Griffith Energy Services, Winsted Office Site

Project Type: Canal Wall failure and repair

Project Status: Completed.

Performed a forensic investigation on an historic, failing canal wall that formed a property line of the office site. Prepared remediation plan alternatives and cost estimates for owner and insurance carrier review. Designed civil engineering improvement plans, managed bidding and secured state and local construction permits for project owner.

Griffith Energy Services, Amato Facility, Maryland

Project Type: Facility Evaluation and Renovation

Project Status: In Process

Developed alternative plans for renovation of this heating oil distribution facility to be completed in a phased manner.  Renovation will involve removal of all existing underground storage tanks and replacement of fuel loading stations.  Worked with specialty contractors to develop conceptual budget for owner approval.  


Water and Wastewater Facilities

Howardsville Water and Sewer Study, Loudoun County, Virginia

Project Type: Engineering and environmental analysis of alternative community water supply and wastewater treatment for a small rural community

Project Status: Analysis completed, report prepared and submitted to County Engineering for funding approval by County Board of Supervisors

As part of an interdisciplinary team, provided project management, cost estimating and value engineering analysis. The project evaluated methods to provide safe drinking water and wastewater treatment for a small rural area that was founded by freed slaves after the Civil War.


Landfill Facilities

Scott Air Force Base Landfill, St. Clair County, Illinois

Project Type: Sourcing Study for landfill cap material, grading design and permitting coordination.

Project Status: Sourcing study completed. Source site acquired.

For a fixed fee, design build project, completed a comprehensive sourcing study for the cap material required for a thirty-five acre landfill at the Scott AFB. Over twenty sources were identified and evaluated and the three top sites were evaluated in detail. Negotiated and secured the primary site. Developed conceptual grading plans for cap material removal. Managed local engineering firm that prepared final plans for permitting.
